FROM TEMPORARY MESS TO ETERNAL HARVEST - KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE!

The Scriptures tell us that details of our lives were recorded in Heaven, even before we arrived on Earth.

"You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." (Psalm 139:16 NLT)

I like to call this heavenly book the "Destiny Scrolls." I believe the Holy Spirit reveals the things we've been individually called to walk out in our lives. Through prayer and listening to that still, small Voice, we can unpack the heavenly treasures that await us in THIS life - not just in the life to come!

There's also another scripture I love, and it comes into play on days when I'm living out God's calling on my life for this season, and when life becomes a little more messy than normal.

"Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest." (Proverbs 14:4)

If you have big dreams, your life may get messy. Just like a barn gets messy when you put an ox inside, yet an ox makes tilling the land much easier than if you only have a shovel, a vision for harvest requires a certain amount of mess!

Like the other morning, when a semi truck backed down my driveway and unloaded some items for my prayer cabin project, and they had a hard time fitting them into my already overflowing carport. We squeezed them between the boxes of chinking and the antique vanity I refurbished to hold the vessel sink, just next to the repainted chandeliers and bathroom fixtures.

A few months ago, my carport was perfectly clean, neat, and orderly; then I said "yes" to the vision of building a prayer cabin, and things got messy. In fact, the closer the cabin gets to completion, the messier life becomes! But in my excitement to see the vision complete, I don't mind stepping around stacks of river rocks in the carport. The vision of completing a forest cabin where people can get away to be with Jesus far outweighs the temporary "mess." I believe the harvest is worth it.

Sometimes the calling of God will disrupt our lives (I'm pretty sure it's supposed to), but if we keep our eyes on the harvest, we'll discover that the temporary "mess" pales in comparison to the harvest He calls us to participate in. The mess is temporary; the harvest is eternal.

As you seek the Father for His will, get ready for a fresh adventure! Keep your eyes on the prize: the joy of living the divine adventure crafted by the Father's love, written in Heaven, and filled with eternal value.
