最近我在飛機上，機長突然把主艙的燈關掉。

起初，我什麼也看不見；我的眼睛習慣較亮的光線。

令我驚訝的是，我的眼睛很快就適應地板上昏暗的燈帶。

昏暗的燈光變得足夠看清，甚至可以閱讀。

聖靈促使我提醒大家，不要讓我們的眼睛適應黑暗，不要滿足於世界上昏暗的燈光。

但，我們是世界的光。我們要保持我們的燈亮著、燃燒著，我們如何做到這一點？

閱讀聖經，敬拜，按聖經所說的去做；禱告，禁食，花時間在神美好的同在中，做話語的執行者，而不是只會欺騙自己的聽眾。

在這些大黑暗和欺騙盛行的日子裡，盡你所能保持清醒。盡你所能保持在光中。

我們被呼召成為黑暗中的光，以便其他人能夠看到。我們不應該調整我們的眼，在黑暗中蹣跚而行。

你們是世上的光。城造在山上是不能隱藏的。人點燈，不放在斗底下，是放在燈臺上，就照亮一家的人。你們的光也當這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，便將榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。（馬太福音5:14-16）

那僕人若心裡說：我的主人必來得遲，就動手打僕人和使女，並且吃喝醉酒；在他想不到的日子，不知道的時辰，那僕人的主人要來，重重地處治他（或作：把他腰軋了），定他和不忠心的人同罪。僕人知道主人的意思，卻不預備，又不順他的意思行，那僕人必多受責打；惟有那不知道的，做了當受責打的事，必少受責打；因為多給誰，就向誰多取；多託誰，就向誰多要。（路加12:45-48）

不要滿足於不冷不熱，盡你所能脫離肉體的陷阱和誘惑，跑回耶穌基督身邊，祂是你靈魂的牧者。不要讓你的燈熄滅，不要讓肉體哄騙你睡覺。

耶穌又對眾人說：我是世界的光。跟從我的，就不在黑暗裡走，必要得著生命的光。（約翰福音8:12）

即使有大黑暗，我們也不應該習慣於它。

弟兄們，不要讓你們的眼光變暗。

DON’T LET THE LIGHT GROW DIM!

Recently I was on a plane when they suddenly turned the main cabin lights off.

At first, I couldn’t see a thing; my eyes were accustomed to the brighter light.

I was amazed at how quickly my eyes adjusted to the dim strip lighting on the floor.

The dimmed light became more than adequate to see and even read with.

The Holy Spirit prompted me to remind us all not to let our eyes get adjusted to the darkness, not to settle for the dimmed lights of the world.

But that we are the light of the world. We are to keep our lights on and our lamps burning bright how do we do that?

Read the Bible, worship, do what it says; pray, fast, and spend time in God’s beautiful presence, being doers of the word, not hearers only deceiving ourselves.

In these days of gross darkness and deception, do whatever you can to stay awake. Do whatever you can to stay in the light.

We are called to be light in the dark so others can see. We should not readjust our sight and start stumbling around in the darkness.

Mat 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Mat 5:15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the grain-measure, but on a lampstand. And it gives light to all who are in the house.

Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

So many Christians have become accustomed to the darkness. They are in dimmed lighting and not even realising the lights have dimmed and are heading to a dangerous place, thinking they have the light of Christ!

Luk 12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

Luk 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Luk 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

Luk 12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Don't settle for lukewarm, do whatever you can to break away from the traps and lures of the flesh and run back to Jesus Christ, the shepherd of your soul. Don't let your lamp go out, don't let the flesh lull you to sleep.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Even though there is gross darkness, we are not to become accustomed to it.

Don’t let your eyes grow dim, brethren.
