{備註}

THIS WEEK'S TORAH PORTION:

From ancient times there has been a weekly portion (Parashah) from the first five books of Moses (The Torah) and an ending (Haftarah) from the Prophets read on the Sabbath in synagogues around the world. This portion is given a Hebrew name drawn from the opening words of the Torah passage. An illustration of this practice appears to have been recorded in Luke 4:16 where Yeshua (Jesus) arrived in the synagogue in Nazareth and was asked to read the portion (Isaiah 61) from the Prophets. We have found that in perusing these weekly readings, not only are we provided opportunity to identify in the context of God's Word with millions of Jewish people around the world, but very often the Holy Spirit will illumine specific passages pertinent that week in our intercession for the Land and people of Israel. All texts are those of English translations of the Scriptures.

{NOTE}

This is one of four special Shabbats before Passover having additional Torah and replacement Haftarah readings. Because this Shabbat precedes Purim, it is called Shabbat-Zachor-"Remember! (what Amalek did to you)." It contains an additional Torah reading from Deuteronomy 25; and the usual Haftarah (Ezekiel 43:10-27) is replaced by the reading from 1 Samuel about Saul's charge to destroy the Amalekites and his failure to kill Agag (an ancestor of Haman).

This week's Torah Portion is called Tsav-"Command":

TORAH: Leviticus 6:8-8:36

Moses is told to command Aaron and his sons concerning the offerings they will shortly begin making before God. Careful instruction is made concerning each of these-with emphasis on the holiness of their activities. Then Aaron and his sons are consecrated, clothed in their holy garments and anointed.and atonement is made for them before they begin their duties on behalf of the people.

Shabbat Zachor ("Remember!"): Deuteronomy 25:17-19

"REMEMBER WHAT AMALEK DID TO YOU.on the way as you came out of Egypt, how he attacked you on the way when you were faint and weary, and cut off your tail, those who were lagging behind you, and he did not fear God. Therefore when the LORD your God has given you rest from all your enemies around you, in the land that the LORD your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget."

HAFTARAH: I Samuel 15:2--34

*(2) "Thus says YHVH of Armies, 'I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt."

*(22-23) "Has YHVH as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of YHVH? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as witchcraft-sin, and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry!"

*(29) "And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret" (ESV).

*(32-33) "Then said Samuel, 'Bring you hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites.' And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, 'Surely the bitterness of death is past.' And Samuel said, 'As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women." And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal" (KJV).
